About Me

My photo
Crafts have always been a big part of my life. They have been my obsession yet kept me sane. My latest obsession is crochet. Wool and the finished products have taken over the house. A blog seems like the next step in my woolie journey wherever that takes me. Feel free to pop in and see what I am up to.

And the clock stopped...

Exactly at 4.50 this morning the clock, which had been wound only yesterday, stopped! No explanation, no idea why.

I get a little nervous about things like that! Brought up on too many 'old wives tales' and what my Grandfather used to call 'pishogues' - old fairy tails. Even in my youth I recognized alcohol fuelled interpretations of coincidences! But something has stuck, and I half expect to hear of some catastrophic event that happened at 4.50 am this morning!!!

I've been working on topping up the washcloth stock. There are some fantastic new colours to introduce. My only problem is pricing. They take about an hour to make and when the cost of the cotton is added in, they work out at about €12 each retail. Compairing prices on Etsy, a single cloth can cost approx €7.50 plus postage, which in the US with the latest price increase, is almost $10! I'm going to have to try free shipping I think to see if they will sell.

The scraps from the washcloths have been hijacked by my daughter to make patches for a throw! It's turning out very pretty!
