Today I decided I would treat myself to a new cowl. I'm a bit like the cobbler's daughter - make things for everybody else but don't actually have one for myself!
Not strictly true: I do have four cowls that I wear regularly but none of them were made for me - I started to wear them because I though they weren't good enough to sell or they made from left-over wool and they suited my needs at the time.
I have a bit of a frozen shoulder and have found that if I keep my neck warm the pain doesn't go up into my neck and it also minimizes the shoulder pain - in fact its rare to see me without a cowl these days. But for some reason none of my cowls seemed to be right today- too bulky, too loose, not warm enough or too long.
So I decided it was time for a new one and I would start from scratch and choose a nice wool and design one to fit my exact needs. And I do have a mountain of wool to choose from! So bearing in mind that three of the four cowls mentioned above are grey and that I have just about every colour of wool imaginable in my stash, one would think my new cowl would be something splendiferous! What do I find myself working on - another grey cowl!!!!
